Job Description: Fine Dining Assistant General Manager
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant General Manager with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in the realm of fine dining. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality industry, with a specific focus on Japanese cuisine and culture. As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our establishment while upholding the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Excellence:
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of the restaurant's operations, from front-of-house to back-of-house.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of Japanese cuisine, culture, and dining etiquette to enhance guest experiences.
  • Lead and inspire the team to consistently deliver impeccable service and uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
2. Guest Experience Enhancement:
  • Create an ambiance of sophistication and warmth, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and valued.
  • Monitor guest feedback and reviews, taking proactive measures to address concerns and enhance positive experiences.
  • Anticipate guest needs and preferences, fostering a personalized and memorable dining journey.
3. Team Leadership:
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff members to deliver world-class service and elevate their skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes open communication, respect, and teamwork.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance employee growth.
4. Financial Management:
  • Assist in managing budgets, expenses, and financial targets while maintaining profitability and cost control.
  • Monitor inventory levels, control waste, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop strategies that drive revenue and profitability.
5. Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as local laws and regulations.
  • Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service consistency.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to maintain the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the fine dining or upscale restaurant industry.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese cuisine, culture, and dining etiquette, with direct experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with a track record of creating a positive and high-performing work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently and professionally with guests and staff.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality and presentation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale systems and restaurant management software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is a plus.
