Job Description
Please note there is space in the job application to note your grade level, subject area, and campus preferences.
KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks elementary, middle and high school teachers for our kindergarten through eleventh grade classrooms in the 2023-24 school year. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.
OUR CURRENT MODEL
  • Kindergarten through Second Grade: All classrooms are self-contained and are responsible for at least English Language Arts and Math instruction. There is either a paraprofessional or teaching fellow in addition to a Lead Teacher in K-2 classrooms.
  • Third through Eighth grade: All lead teachers are departmentalized. A single lead teacher in each classroom is responsible for teaching specific subjects (e.g. only math). In this model, most teachers plan for one subject and teach lessons to multiple cohorts of students.
  • High School: The model for the high school will change over time as more grade levels are added and the model is subject to change. In the 2023-24 school year, the school operates on block schedules. Core content areas at the high school level include science, history, ELA, and math.
