Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial and proven marketing leader with excellent written, verbal, and strategic thinking skills to join our team as the Managing Director of Marketing & Enrollment. This individual will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will play a critical role in planning, developing and executing marketing strategies that will generate greater brand awareness, increase student and staff application volume, and support KIPP Nashville’s overall goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the Managing Director of Marketing and Enrollment include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the research, identification, development, and execution of the KIPP Nashville brand as a whole with the objective of generating awareness of KIPP Nashville as a high-quality school choice option.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for KIPP Nashville to drive stakeholder and community awareness of, enthusiasm for, and demand for KIPP
  • Responsible for strategic marketing efforts that support student enrollment, fundraising and staff hiring
  • Responsible for reaching full enrollment at each school
  • Oversee the creation, distribution, and execution of social media content to campus-level administrators to ensure holistic branding and messaging at all levels
  • Direct all student recruitment efforts and oversee enrollment systems to ensure all KIPP Nashville schools are fully enrolled with waitlists.
  • Manage a large marketing and enrollment budget, and lead a team of three to drive all marketing and enrollment efforts
  • Creates a solutions-oriented, goal-driven team culture
  • Cultivate strong relationships with authorizers and peers to solve challenges and ensure strong, positive communications
  • Oversee annual budget segmentation and tracking for annual marketing and enrollment expenditures, including planned budget and/or requesting additional funding.
  • Responsible for reporting out performance and metrics of current campaign initiatives on a regular basis to showcase work and strategy to key business partners
  • Design, write, and coordinate production of all marketing materials across student recruitment, staff hiring, and fundraising efforts.
  • Field requests from campuses to determine appropriate platforms for marketing materials including flyers, signage, event support, and direct mail.
  • Partner with Director of Talent Recruitment and third-party marketing and communications agency to determine appropriate platform for lead generation campaigns that will support the org-wide goal of 100% roles filled
  • Think outside of the box to identify marketing tactics or resources that could help support student recruitment, staff hiring, or fundraising in partnership with key stakeholders
  • Manage Student Recruitment and Enrollment team to ensure full enrollment of all KIPP Nashville schools

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in marketing and/or communications in a fast-paced work environment, charter or education field preferred
  • Experience working with and managing a third-party agency to address marketing and communications needs
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results through strategic marketing efforts and proven understanding of basic marketing funnels
  • Familiarity with a CRM platform like HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, emphasis on recruitment copywriting
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with children, families, professionals and other personnel from a wide range of cultural, social and economic backgrounds;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhering to strict timelines
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Familiarity with design software like Canva and Adobe Spark
  • Demonstrated passion for the mission, vision and values of KIPP Nashville; comfort and willingness to actively participate in the KIPP Nashville community

Additional Information

Our comprehensive compensation package includes life insurance and long-term disability coverage provided by KIPP Nashville, voluntary medical and dental plans, in addition to retirement benefits and an annual salary increase. To establish equitable salary practices, the compensation package is derived from the regional KIPP Nashville Public Schools pay scale. This position is exempt and will follow a 12-month schedule.
