Kiona-Benton City School District 52 is Hiring a 2024-25 #1 1st Grade Teacher Near Benton, WA

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. Must possess a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Education endorsement.

2. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree.

3. Must meet federal Highly Qualified requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
:

1. Have an ELL endorsement, and be bilingual in Spanish and English.

2. Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.

3. The ability to promote high expectations, demonstrates a caring attitude, and establishes a learning environment that enhances academic achievement for students.

4. Be enthusiastic, flexible and have a commitment to student achievements and the Dual Language Program.

5. Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods and sound assessment techniques.

6. Exemplary organization, communication and leadership skills are essential attributes.

7. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.

8. Punctual and consistent attendance.

9. Strong knowledge of classroom organization and management skills.

10. Willingness to participate in building wide initiatives that include standards based grading and professional learning communities.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to:

1. Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of such preparation.

2. Attend and participate in faculty and team meetings.

3. Participate in workshops and other staff development programs that support building goals.

4. Be an effective member of a professional learning community by establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with others.

5. Assess and provide feedback on a regular basis.

6. Communicate regularly and positively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and behavior.

7. Be flexible to the demands of the position and manage time effectively.

8. Work with students in an enthusiastic, supportive, and consistent manner.

9. Maintain classroom in an orderly educational program.

10. Use technology in the teaching and managing of students.

11. Work with and assume the responsibility for the productive use of classroom para educators.

12. Enforce and uphold all District and Building policies, rules and regulations.

13. Perform other duties assigned.


SPECIFIC DETAILS

Monday-Friday 7.5 hours per day for the 2024-25 school year. This position may move from 1st grade to other grade levels based on student numbers/needs.
