King Spalding is Hiring an eBilling Analyst Near Palo Alto, CA

King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, currently seeks an eBilling Analyst to join our Finance Department. The department offers the opportunity for an eBilling Analyst to join an innovative and collaborate team focused on supporting accounting practices and developing solutions to improve processes and procedures. The eBilling Analyst will work closely with the Finance team and will report to the eBilling Manager.

Candidates will have the following responsibilities:

  • Submit electronic invoices via the eBillinghub and various electronic vendor systems in the required LEDES electronic invoice format
  • Review client billing guidelines adding billing rules and notes in matter management/eBilling system(s) to establish client billing requirements printed with prebills for billing compliance
  • Ensure accuracy and currency of timekeeper rates, accruals, budgets, matter IDs, and other client-required information in electronic vendor systems; submit timekeeper rate data to clients in eBilling vendor systems in tandem with Pricing team
  • Assist eBilling Supervisor with client implementations, matter management, and maintenance of electronic vendor systems and processes
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues that may arise during submission process; coordinate with attorneys and Billing Analysts for resolution and maintenance associated with client eBilling requirements; work with billing attorneys, Legal Practice Assistants, and Billing Analysts to submit appeals for reduced and rejected invoices
  • Track status of invoices uploaded and work with attorneys and Billing Analysts to address client deductions and other issues taking proactive approach to reduce/eliminate invoice rejections and reductions
  • Provide updates and financial data to attorneys, clients and administrative staff for rates, budgets, accruals, outstanding AR, and short payments as needed
  • Assist with follow-up on partially paid invoices to assure the firm collects A/R in full; collaborate with Billing Analysts to obtain necessary authorization for write-offs in accordance with firm policy
  • Complete research and ad hoc projects and requests from billing attorneys, clients, and management

Successful candidates are detail-oriented, highly motivated, organized, and have the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Candidates should have well-developed Microsoft Office skills-including Excel proficiency—and knowledge and experience with eBilling vendors (e.g. eBillinghub, TyMetrix 360, CounselLink, Collaborati, Legal Tracker (Serengeti), Collaboration Portal (Passport), Corridor Bridgeway, Onit Billing Point, DoeLegal Ascent, LSS, Lawtrac, BottomLine Legal Exchange and others). Successful incumbents demonstrate the ability to solve problems and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel. Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required with at least five years of related experience.
