King's Seafood Company continues it's growth and evolution and is seeking to add a coordinator to our People (Human) Resources team. The People Resource Coordinator will participate in the maintenance of the following HR programs: safety, workers compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, compliance, 401K enrollment, EDD correspondence, garnishments, and community outreach events.

Essential Qualifications

• Achievement driven
1 years of Human Resources experience
• -in an office environment
• Familiarity with labor laws and regulations
• High School graduate, some college preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Continuous learner
• High attention to detail
• Strong work ethic
• Held positions with high level of trust and confidentiality
• Bi-lingual Spanish strongly preferred

Essential Job Functions

Crew Training

• Supports training and educational workshops for crew and managers (i.e. create safety trainings in Power Point, support editing/printing of training materials, possible facilitation of trainings)
• Answers incoming calls from crewmembers on all HR related questions. Supporting and participating in small (not complex) crew investigations.

401(k)

• Assists in all distribution of educational materials
• Validates eligibility and processes changes
• Leads distribution of required notices

Worker’s Compensation/Safety

• Workers compensation case specialist
• Compiles Worker’s compensation data
• Participates in HR meetings—reporting on WC claims
• Build relationships with clinics and carriers—phone conversations for updates on cases
• Assist with Worker’s compensation claim administration—providing necessary paperwork

Benefits Overview:

• Reports all areas of concern, improvements, and changes to People Resources Business Partner
• Serves as escalation point for all Leave of Absence activity. Understands the legal issues, tracking, follow up, and go to person for clarity and questions.
• Work with People Resources Business Partner on admin, tracking, communication with General Managers
• Participates in open enrollment annually. Assist with the execution, and roll out of any new programs during open enrollment for all states

Compliance

• Assists in all timely compliance with all leaves of absence including FMLA, PFL, PDL, CFRA and internal options
• Participates in bi-annual HR Certification program
• Document maintenance specialist
• Assist in Year-End projects

Community Outreach

• Leads/Participates in initiatives for annual community outreach programs (To include financial planning)
• Brings ideas to the PRBP on additional ways to get the company involved in the community
• Organizes, plans, works with stakeholders, rolls out education and executes all community program events
