Pay Band: F06

Hiring Range:$49,564.00

Post Fire Academy Graduation: Base salary will increase to $51,049.00 at the Firefighter / EMT rank (F08)

Average Annual Earnings: add approximately $3,500 per annum (includes overtime and holiday pay)

FLSA Status: Full-time, Non - Exempt (eligible for overtime)

*Annual ALS Release Bonus: $3,000 AEMT, $5,000 Paramedic, $6,000 Advanced Practice Paramedic.

The King George County Department of Fire, Rescue & Emergency Services is seeking applicants for an upcoming Fire & Rescue Academy that is scheduled to start in January 2024.Applicants may or may not be invited to test based on the needs of the Department.

Successful graduation from the Fire & Rescue Academy is required.Once graduating from the Academy, this position will be required to work rotating 24 hour shifts at a variety of station locations throughout the County.This position will be required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays while preparing for and responding to emergency calls from the public.

PREREQUISITIES:

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License w/ no major infractions - KGC does DMV Monitoring
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Clean Criminal History - Must be able to pass Polygraph & Background Check
