We are looking for a motivated Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation team in our St. Paul office.

Responsibilities

The ideal person will be interested in performing a variety of tasks associated with Traffic Design for our Transportation team, including the following:

  • Manage large, complex, and multi-disciplinary transportation design tasks including traffic signal, signing and striping, traffic control, fiber optic and electrical design.
  • Mentor and develop staff, provides leadership in an environment that encourages teamwork, initiative, and growth.
  • Collaborate with agencies and municipal clients on complex project delivery challenges.
  • Conduct public presentations including stakeholder meetings, community meetings, board meetings, and city council meetings as needed.
  • Develop schedules, review invoices, manage progress reports, prepare scopes, and track budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field
  • A strong passion for working on innovative projects that improve traffic operations through design in the community
  • A minimum of 6 years of traffic design experience
  • Experienced in using both AutoCAD and MicroStation for traffic and electrical design
  • Strong knowledge of traffic design principles related to transportation
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Experience in traffic and electrical design work for MNDOT
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with stakeholder outreach, community engagement, planning annual events/conferences, coordinating logistics for stakeholder meetings, providing presentations to public officials and communication with a variety of individuals
  • Outgoing, self-motivated team player
  • Ability to work with and balance priorities among multiple projects and project managers

Preferred:

  • P.E. license
  • An entrepreneurial spirit
