SUMMARY:
Assists Provider with daily clinic and administrative tasks related to patient, lab, insurance and pharmacy communications. Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance. Verifies patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical histories, and confirming purpose of visits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Saves provider time by helping with office procedures
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential
  • Counsels patients by transmitting physician’s orders and answering questions about treatments, surgeries, etc.
  • Schedules surgeries by making any necessary arrangements with our authorization coordinator, completing preoperative questionnaire, etc.
  • Timely responses to communications from patients, pharmacies, insurance companies, etc.

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
  • Keeps supplies ready by monitoring stock and notifying appropriate personnel immediately when it is noticed supplies are low
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and reporting equipment problems to the Operations Manager
  • Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements
  • Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

  • At least one (1) year of medical assistant experience preferred
