Job Description:
We are a quality, learning-oriented, prominent Learning Academy in Lilburn and are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Pre-kindergarten teacher. The ideal candidate for this position has at least two years of experience teaching at a pre-kindergarten or higher age level possesses the ability to work as a part of a team and have a love for children. Associate degree required.
Requirements:
CDA, Associates, or Bachelor’s Degree (Will consider several years of experience with Pre-K children and a TCC with other certifications and training)
First Aid/CPR Certification (Preferred)
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a classroom environment working in a Pre-K classroom with a curriculum program.
Willingness to grow as an educator and reflect positively and work well within a team.
Flexible and energetic on the job.
Experience with planning and enhancing lessons and activities.
Ability to positively guide children’s behaviors with a focus on classroom management.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Knowledge of child development and especially of social/emotional characteristics of students in the age group.
Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
Knowledge of learning styles and skills in using varied teaching methods to address student learning abilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning, teaching, and implementing the curriculum and providing quality care for students.
Ability to adapt experiences appropriate to the developmental levels and behaviors of the students.
Positively interacting with children academically, emotionally, and verbally throughout the day.
Assisting children with their personal hygiene and cleanup of the classroom as needed.
Serve and eat meals with the children.
Meet with parents, staff, and administration.
Attend staff development training programs.
Familiarity with fulfilling state licensing requirements.
Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators, and students to ensure the school is successful and is maintaining a conducive learning environment.
Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere to professional standards at all times.
Demonstrate attention to punctuality, attendance, records, and maintain the confidentiality of students and other professionals in the building.
Support school improvement initiatives by active participation in school activities, services, and events.
