This is a full-time position with a Monday – Friday schedule, 8am - 5pm. The pay is $14-15 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications. This position is onsite at our center located: 2500 N Beaumont Ave, Kissimmee FL, 34741.
 The VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.

What You’ll Do:
• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Manage adherence to quality standards in accordance with both center’s vision and state and local / state requirements
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
• Work with staff, children, and parents to foster a team environment
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
• Encourage children to develop a community-spirited classroom through sharing, caring and self-regulation
• Develop a well-balanced schedule of activities including learning, playing, diapering, eating, and napping
 
What We Need from You: 
• DCF 45 hours required 
• VPK Endorsement required
• CPR and First Aid Certification required
• Teachstone CLASS Certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Minimum of 2 -3 years of professional early childhood education preferred
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study preferred
• Must clear a full level II DCF background check
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills
• Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed
