KIDS FOR THE FUTURE

DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

Oversees the Early Intervention Day Treatment (EIDT) day habilitation program to include oversight of the ECDS/ECDT, early intervention curriculum, assessment protocols used by the early intervention day treatment professionals, and all accreditation and credentialing processes specific to the early intervention day treatment program. Provides input and direction regarding current program implementation. Recommends curriculum specific to critical domains of early intervention, including language, social/emotional, arithmetic concepts, and fine motor/writing. Provides oversight or all 5 EIDT clinics while managing and leading in the ongoing training processes and development of all early intervention staff pursuant to curriculum, assessment, and credentials.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the development of Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs) for each beneficiary of EIDT services.
  • Administer developmental evaluations utilizing the appropriate norm referenced and criterion referenced testing protocols.
  • Must utilize any and all appropriate scoring resources.
  • Interpret and report developmental evaluation results for clients.
  • Develop appropriate treatment plans required for clients.
  • Organize and manage Parent/Guardian Conferences.
  • Responsible for supervision of habilitative services provided to EIDT beneficiaries.
  • To maintain and implement a strong curriculum across all clinics. Monitor and check weekly the implementation of the curriculum’s quarterlies, individual treatment plans, lesson plans, pre-k screening test, red folders and pre-k Transitioning procedures.
  • To arrange and participate in the direct training of all ECDS/ECDT respective to their job functions.
  • To arrange and participate in the direct training of ECDS/ECDT regarding
  • curriculum implementation while placing individuals in a suitable environment to achieve the most adequate training pertaining to the implementation of curriculum.
  • Conduct and participate in treatment room trainings that involve onsite interactions with all the children and staff to promote the implementation of a high quality early intervention program—direct contact training in the classroom setting.
  • To ensure ECDS/ECDT is performing identified responsibilities delineated in the Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • To participate in the planning and coordination of all ECDS/ECDT monthly meetings.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead, interact, and teach through direct contact individuals

responsible to ECDS/ECDT.

  • Demonstrates ability to build on early intervention curriculum model within the day treatment in a EIDT clinic setting.
  • Responsible for the integrity and quality of the early intervention program meeting the critical domains of early intervention (language, social/emotional, pre-reading and phonics foundations, arithmetic readiness and fine motor/writing). Monitors treatment rooms to ensure all five domains are taught daily.
  • Responsible for the oversight in training programs specific to the early intervention program, including curriculum and assessment protocols.
  • Responsible for the compliance with standards specific to the early intervention program.
  • Performs and/or monitors tasks specific to supporting the ECDS/ECDT; and indirectly the clinic Director.
  • Works openly and cooperatively with the Clinic Director and ECDS/ECDT in supporting the early intervention day treatment program.
  • Communicates with the clinic team (ECDS/ECDT and Clinic Director) strengths and weaknesses within the early intervention day treatment program and helps the team develop an action plan for further improvement or correction.
  • Report to work dressed appropriately and comply with established company policies regarding dress code.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.
  • Has the ability to work required overtime.
  • May perform other related and non-related duties, as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess at a minimum a Bachelor’s degree plus one of the following:

A. Current Arkansas state certification in Early Childhood Special Education or

B. Current Child Development Associate Certificate or

C. Current Birth to Pre-K Credential or

D. Documented experience working with children with special needs and twelve (12) hours of completed college courses in any of the following areas:

· Early Childhood

· Child Development

· Special Education/Elementary Education; or

· Child and Family Studies; or

  • Previous employment or knowledge of the Early Intervention Day Treatment program is preferred.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
