Credentialing Coordinator

Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians and Advanced Practitioners, as well as 70 team members across eight office locations. We are looking for a dynamic Credentialing Coordinator to join our growing team.

Position Summary

This individual will serve as a liaison between KSOSN, partner facilities, dialysis organizations, and payers to successfully assist with tasks pertaining to our practitioners credentialing. The credentialing coordinator will organize, maintain, and verify all aspects of the process, and maintain current files on practitioners. The credentialing coordinator will track the expiration of certifications to maintain up to date files and assist health plan providers and facilities with credentialing and contracting inquiries. To be successful in this role the credentialing coordinator should ensure the accuracy of all information. Preferred candidates will be a team player, reliable, energetic, and have excellent people skills.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Process initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications for facilities and payers
  • Onboard new providers
  • Payer contracting
  • Conduct thorough research and primary source verification of all components of the application file.
  • Assist facilities and payers with credentialing inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist with credentialing audits
  • Ensure that payers and facilities have all credentialing items needed
  • Track and record metrics for credentialing applications
  • Maintain up to date and accurate credentialing files
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be fully vaccinated by date of hire.
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of credentialing experience with extensive knowledge of credentialing requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of related experience in a fast-paced healthcare office environment
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must possess excellent customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented with data entry proficiency
  • Knowledge of medical credentialing and privileging procedures and standards.
  • Must have the ability to adapt to change and support new policies and procedures in a positive manner
  • Ability to focus for extended periods.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and satisfactorily communicate with others in English in person, over the phone and via email
