RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce's client located in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team. Summary: As an RPG Software Engineer, you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays banks and invests. This will involve developing software applications, identifying client requirements and technical specifications, interacting with engineering groups and training clients on applications. About the team: The Software Engineer will bring valuable technical skills and perspectives to the team. Duties Include: * Code programs using all forms of RPGLE including free form and embedded SQL RPGLE, CLLE, DDL and DDS * Designing, programming, debugging, and modifying software enhancements * Senior Software Engineer will be interacting with product managers and users to define requirements and modifications * Participating in software design meetings to determine technical requirements * Working with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams * Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs * Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications * Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements * Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements * Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies. * Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance * Trains and communicates with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams on systems application * May be responsible for developing or executing project plans, budgets, and schedules and for documenting work and results REQUIREMENTS: * A Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience * Must have RPG skills * Experience with end-to-end systems development life cycles and standards * Knowledge of banking/financial industry practices, regulations, and operations * Fluency in sequence diagrams, class models, etc. * Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines * Interview: Interview with manager, programmer, and dev manager; Could be a 1 or 2 step process * Schedule: Traditional Business, preference is eastern time zone, no west coast The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
