RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client that is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Chatsworth, CA. Summary: The Electrical Engineer will perform a variety of design, test and engineering functions under general direction related to the company's pressure and temperature sensor products. Products include pressure transducers and transmitters utilizing silicone piezoresistive MEMS and Thin Film, Capacitive and SOI sensors for pressure applications; and wire wound RTD's (Resistance Thermal Detectors) for temperature sensing applications. Key Responsibilities: * Perform sensor design, development, and testing efforts under direction on a variety of projects * Work with project engineer or engineering manager to define and develop design concepts to meet customer requirements * Review customer specifications and assist with technical proposals on new sensor applications * Analyze, interpret, and apply military and commercial specifications for product performance * Sensor testing using a variety of pressure, temperature and electronic equipment * Calibration and temperature compensation of pressure sensors * Hands-on prototyping and testing of new designs to verify the operational performance * Proposes technical solutions, prepares reports, maintains engineering data, and participates in meetings and reviews * Interface with external hardware/software resources * Interface with company manufacturing engineers to ensure products meet requirements and are testable during production * Perform digital and analog design analysis, generation of schematic diagrams, assembly drawings and parts lists, as well as system level interconnection drawings and wiring diagrams REQUIREMENTS: * 4-year BSEE degree * Applicant must be ITAR compliant * 3-5 years of relevant work experience * Embedded designs (microprocessor, RAM, EEPROM), analog circuit design (OP-Amps, Filters, SPICE simulation), power supplies, digital circuit design, signal conversion and filtering, signal quality analysis and frequency response * Must be proficient at Altium (OrCAD, Dip trace or equivalent PCB design tools) and embedded software architecture * Experience with electronic test equipment such as: power supplies, multi-meters, dielectric, insulation resistance, etc. * Familiarity with electronic product design and EMI noise filtering circuit protection * Experience with LABVIEW, MATLAB or similar test software * Proficient in the use of business software - MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint * Proficient knowledge of Quality Control processes and various stages of production process * Effective time management skills * Experience with programmable analog sensor signal conditioners is a plus * Testing experience with Lab VIEW software or python is a plus * Knowledge of PCB design and experience with design software tools including layout of different layers, trace width, via, component packages, pad arrangements and surface mount technologies (SMT) is a plus * RTCA-DO 160 & 258 standards knowledge is a plus The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
