Key Personnel is Hiring a Hilo/Machine Operator NEEDED Near Holland, MI

A local Zeeland company who is the nation's largest private clock manufacture has openings! This manufacture makes an array of grandfather, wall, and mantel clocks, curio, cabinets, wine, and spirit furnishing, rugs, and home furniture as well as memorial urns.
Job description
Our local manufacturer and distributor of clocks and fine furniture, has an opening for an experienced Hilo/Machine Operator
Must have a strong safety record.
Must have strong attention to detail or organizational skills.
Must currently have or ability to immediately earn a hi-lo / forklift license / certificate.
Prior stand up hi-lo experience
Must have ability to safely climb a ladder to pick product from racks.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Solid computer and iPad skills a plus.
Record of good / great attendance is critical.
Key duties include:
Picking orders for shipment. Can include small products picked by hand as well as large furniture that would require driving a stand up hi-lo.
Packing orders of small product and preparing for shipment
Processing orders through scanning system
As necessary, safely operating hi-lo to load and unload trucks.
Pick up and store finished goods.
Frequent manual lifting of loads over 25# and/or moving loads more than 50 #.
Prior exp in woodworking, running a sanding machine, and quality inspection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Based on the day's shipping list, operates a hi-lo to transfer the demanded number of units to the shipping dock.
  • Responsible for maintaining the system(s) which organize the Warehouse. Records storage location of various work orders on map or card system. Routinely reorganizes stock to ensure product is safely stored and accessible. Arranges product on a 'first in, first out' basis such that oldest work orders are shipped first.
  • Works with Clock Assembly/Pack driver to direct storage of newly packed units.
  • Moves product from staging area and distributes it to appropriate dock location for inclusion in specific orders. Completes various documents associated with maintaining inventory; ensures their accuracy. Utilizes a hand truck to move loads around dock.
  • Helps out in other areas as assigned and when time permits.
  • Strictly adheres to all safety guidelines and practices regarding driving and operating a hi-lo. Performs routine cleaning and maintenance as authorized.
  • When assigned to Floor Clock area, lifts pallet from storage and moves it directly to the dock; alternatively, lifts pallet to floor, transfers requisite number of clocks, by hand, to an 'odd lot' pallet and transfers these mixed loads to the dock. Confers with coworker at the beginning of each day to determine whether some product may already be available on the dock, adjusts list accordingly.
  • When assigned to Wall, Mantel, and Table Top area, transports pallets of mixed or 'picked' loads to staging area for subsequent division into specific orders. Ensures that number bins from which loads are picked contain sufficient units for the day's orders; moves stock from other warehouse areas to bins as shipments demand. May also operate hi-lo to move floor clocks around shipping dock.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • The ability to drive hi-lo in a standing position while operating foot and hand controls. Excellent hand-eye coordination is necessary in order to properly manipulate lift.
  • The ability to periodically move relatively heavy objects by hand when pushing, pulling, and sliding floor clocks as well as the ability to regularly lift light to moderate weights and push loaded hand cart.
  • Must have Hilo license.
Must pass drugscreen and meet background requirements.
