Kessel Run delivers DoD software applications and solutions that are used every day by Airmen worldwide. Kessel Run gives warfighters the edge they need to win tomorrow's fights, today. We value ideas over rank, intense customer focus, bias for action, and continuous evolution.
Serve your country and help us solve our nation's toughest, most complex challenges.
Please note: Our headquarters is located at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. Candidates who have the ability to work in person at Hanscom Air Force Base 1-2 times per week are strongly preferred. We will provide relocation assistance to those who wish to move to the local area. We will only consider exceptional remote candidates.
The Position
The Targeting and GeoIntelligence (T&G) Portfolio Deputy Technical Lead is responsible for maintaining technical awareness of product teams and for supporting the portfolio T&G Lead Engineer. You are charged with guiding product teams on successful implementation of the Wing Command & Control (WingC2, your branch) T&G technical strategy. You will facilitate information sharing between leadership and product teams and work with WingC2's T&G leadership to solve high-level problems.
The goal is to provide hands-on support to engineers as they execute the WingC2's T&G strategy while also balancing code, platforms and system health. We look to the Portfolio Engineers to provide guidance to product teams, to direct technical advice, and empower whenever possible. They advocate for team engineering staff concerns with portfolio and WingC2's T&G leadership.
A Portfolio Engineer should have practical Agile and Lean software development and hardware integration experience as well as a wealth of pragmatic experience with industry best practices (e.g. Test Driven Development (TDD), eXtreme Programming (XP), 12-factor principles, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), and Infrastructure as Code (IAC)).
Ideally, this individual has experience in facilitation and communication, and opts for simplicity. They should value and be able to articulate the importance of focusing on outcomes over outputs, from strategy to implementation.
