**Description**

**Role Title:** Assistant ManagerOperations Planning

**Manager:** Manager of Operations Planning

**Manager-once-Removed:** Director of Operations Planning

**Knowledge and Skills**

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

* Must be detail oriented and possess good communication, presentation and organizational skills while working on multiple assignments simultaneously.

* Ability to present and sell new workflow concepts to peers and stakeholders clearly and convincingly.

**Experience**

* Bachelors degree in Business Administrations, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent railroad experience.

* Train scheduling experience preferred.

* Prior experience with Hastus preferred.

* Previous Rail or Transit experience is preferred.

**Key Accountabilities**

1. Demonstrate understanding and adhere to the KCS principals of:

2. Implement and monitor operational practices to ensure equipment reliability and quality service while ensuring a safe and productive workplace.

3. Administer and manage the Departments annual budget to meet financial targets.

4. Analyze utilization of department workforce and facilities to continuously identify improvement in work practices and scheduling.

5. Comply with and ensure staff compliance with all safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required.

6. Construct new train schedules and changes as required under the direction of the Manager of Operations Planning.

7. Model new train schedules or schedule changes in the Hastus Crew Optimization modules and other related tasks.

8. Enhance and configure optimizations rules as necessary in Hastus.

9. Responsible to perform backfill on train scheduling in RTC.

10. Develop training materials using best practices.

11. Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation.

12. Develop and document standard operating procedures.

13. Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation.

14. Support, document and assist in the execution of business workflow processes.

15. Design and create ad-hoc queries for Transportation Crew departments as requested.

16. Act as first point of contact for Hastus issues or concerns for Transportation department.

17. Assist in QA, testing, and documentation of new releases within the platforms of responsibility.

18. Provide reference documents for users by writing and maintaining user documentation.

19. Provide ad hoc and scheduled training as necessary.

20. Act as the liaison between KCS Transportation and KCS IT Departments on updates, configuration changes and requirements.

21. Keep abreast of software functional improvements as well as Industry best practices.

22. Challenge established thinking and processes, discover new ways of approaching and providing solutions.

23. Additional duties may be assigned to meet the operational needs of Keolis.

24. Other duties as assigned during emergencies.
