Job Title: Director of Secondary Curriculum
Job Summary: Primary responsibilities include providing leadership in the development, coordination and the supervision of the district’s secondary educational and MTSS programs and staff development. Other major responsibilities are research and planning, curriculum evaluation and selection of instructional/curricular/technology materials and equipment.
Qualifications: 1. Must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate and be eligible to obtain Michigan administrator certification. 2. Possess a valid School Administrator Certificate, preferred. 3. Masters Degree with emphasis in curriculum and instruction. 4. Minimum of five years of teaching experience, and curriculum/instruction experience preferred. 5. Leadership experience in the areas of curriculum and instruction at the secondary level. 6. Strong literacy background. Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Responsible for the organization and implementation of the school improvement process, which includes data collection, analysis, and reporting. 2. Collaborate with administrators to support Professional Learning Communities and MTSS and PBIS initiatives at the secondary level. a. Collaborate with District Implementation Team, administrators, and building teams to plan, organize and facilitate district MTSS activities. b. Work with District MTSS teams and administrators to establish data collection, analysis, decision-making rules, evaluation and reporting processes. c. Work collaboratively with the district implementation team to plan, organize and provide professional development activities related to research-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. 3. Consult and collaborate with teachers regarding curriculum and instruction. 4. Coordinate and monitor district and state assessments. 5. Take a lead role in receiving, coordinating and managing various state and federal educational grant programs. 6. Assist with developing and monitoring the secondary curriculum budget. 7. Responsible for various state-level reports, as well as a variety of reports prepared for local community presentation and/or publicity. 8. Responsible for the Alternative Education program. 9. Collaborate with Director of Elementary Curriculum. 10. Serve on the Kent Learning Communities committee at the KISD. 11. Serve on various school and community committees and participate in the budget review process and other major policy issues. 12. Follow all Board policies, state laws and regulations. 13. Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent. Terms of Employment: 207 work days per contract. Salary: $100,000 - $105,000 To Apply:
