- State of Michigan Teaching Certificate - Mathematics (EX) and ELA (BA)
- Experience teaching middle school students
- Ability to foster a positive climate and work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
- Ability to motivate and inspire secondary students
- Ability to differentiate instruction
- Ability to transform instruction through the creative use of technology
- Ability to be enthusiastic and flexible
- Knowledge of instructional practices for varied learning styles and individual student needs
- Ability to teach subject content in an integrated manner
- Successful classroom management strategies and skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening skills)
- Belief that all children can learn and appreciation for differences in students
- Willingness and commitment to include equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices
- Experience utilizing a variety of assessments to inform teaching
