Job Title: Continuous Improvement Consultant
(Full Time, Year Round)
Objective:A Continuous Improvement Consultant applies systems thinking to support constituent districts in the continuous improvement process.
Essential Job Qualifications Required:1. Minimum of five (5) years of successful professional experience in one or more of the following fields: instruction, assessment, continuous improvement, consulting/technical assistance, training, administration, or related field.
2. Valid current or expired Michigan Teacher and/or Administrative certificate is preferred.
3. Master’s degree from an accredited college/university with particular emphasis in education, administration, leadership, staff development, or a related field preferred.
4. Understanding of the foundations of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
5. Understanding of systems thinking and project management.
6. Knowledge in collecting, analyzing, and using data to make decisions that impact the whole child.
7. Broad knowledge of current educational policies and operations in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to inform continuous improvement.
8. Training, coaching, and presentation skills and experience with adult learners.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Successful in developing, implementing, and evaluating professional learning.
11. Demonstrate leadership through active participation in organizations at local, state, and/or national levels.
12. Ability to travel to meet constituent needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:1. Develop and maintain relationships with constituent districts.
2. Coordinate, plan, and conduct professional learning and technical assistance in the continuous improvement process for constituent districts.
3. Support data collection, report writing, and grant preparation as required by the Michigan Department of Education and other agencies.
4. Participate with local, state, and national organizations involved in continuous improvement.
5. Provide timely responses to requests for information concerning continuous improvement or technical assistance issues.
6. Maintain high-level training, facilitating, coaching, and presenting skills for conducting professional learning.
7. Maintain knowledge of current educational issues, continuous improvement research, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
8. Develop an understanding of the Michigan Department of Education accountability and reporting requirements.
9. Provide leadership and assistance on Kent ISD projects or committees.
