The Chicago office of an international law firm has an immediate opening for a mid to senior level Coverage Associate. The attorney will be responsible for the day to day handling of litigated cases, drafting coverage reports and letters, and servicing several national and international client accounts. Admission to the Illinois bar is required.

Key responsibilities

• Interact with clients while managing a busy case load
• Draft pleadings, discovery demands, perform legal research, answer complaints and draft dispositive motions
• Conduct depositions, argue motions and attend court hearings and trials
• Responsible for the day to day handling of litigated cases and assisting with oversight of several national client accounts
• Drafting coverage reports and reservation of rights letters

Required experience

• Minimum 1 years coverage litigation and commercial business experience
• Candidate should be organized, efficient and have excellent research and writing skills
• Ability to multitask, analyze complex issues, and communicate effectively
• Must be willing to work independently and manage paralegals
• Must be licensed to practice in Illinois
• Being licensed in Indiana or Wisconsin would be helpful
