Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service
  • Assist clients with buying, selling, and leasing properties

Qualifications:

  • Must be a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana or be willing to obtain license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Knowledge of the New Orleans real estate market is a plus

Pay:

A common commission rate in the industry is 6% of the sale price for a residential real estate transaction, but can always be negotiated.

In this scenario, assuming a home sale price of $300,000, the total commission payable would be 6% of the sale price, or $18,000. Of that $18,000, the listing agent, who represents the seller, would typically receive 3% of the sale price, or $9,000. The buyer's agent, who represents the buyer, would also receive 3% of the sale price, or $9,000.

Under our model, agents are responsible for paying a commission split to the brokerage, which is the same for all joining agents. Once the agent reaches a certain commission threshold, or "cap", they keep 100% of their commission for the remainder of the year.

This cap system incentivizes agents to work hard and achieve their goals, while also allowing them to earn more money for their hard work.
