Job Description:
Overview:
KGI's Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program will emphasize occupation-centered practice, innovation, leadership and advocacy, cultural responsiveness, lifestyle medicine for whole-person care, research and evidence, and optimized service delivery throughout the curriculum. This core occupational therapy faculty position will be involved in curriculum design, teaching, service, and research in KGI's OTD program. The KGI OTD program offers a supportive and dynamic academic work environment with an emphasis on teamwork, innovation, and active learning. The position is an instructor role. The position is full-time on a 12-month schedule. A KGI OTD faculty member exemplifies an enthusiastic commitment to innovative teaching, scholarship, and service to further the mission and values of the Institute, OTD program, and occupational therapy profession.

Education and Experience:
Doctoral degree from a United States Department of Education recognized and accredited program
Post-professional OTD, Ph.D., ScD, or EdD degree preferred
Registered and certified as an occupational therapist by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Licensed occupational therapist in the state of California
At least two years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist
Previous experience with tertiary teaching and scholarship preferred
Essential Functions and Responsibilities : Individuals must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential function of the position successfully or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Teaching
Teaching emphasis on psychosocial occupational therapy services, Research, and other general occupational therapy professional areas.
Provide active, innovative, and high-caliber learning experiences in relevant areas of expertise.
Fulfill SPHS teaching load requirements.
Serve as course coordinator, as assigned.
Participate in the mentorship of student research and capstone projects.
Ensure compliance with ACOTE standards through course design and assessment.
Provide documented expertise in areas of teaching responsibility and demonstrate knowledge of the content delivery methods.
Service
Serve on OTD program, SPHS committees, as assigned.
Provide student advisement and mentorship.
Engage in Institutional governance and community activities.
Professionalism
Support and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions and work.
Demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills that support the mission, vision, and values of the OTD program, SPHS, and KGI.
Support professional, interprofessional, and clinical collaborations through developing collegial relationships within and outside the Institute.
Demonstrate commitment to working as a team through innovative problem-solving and flexibility.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record (as maintained by the DMV) acceptable to the Institute's insurance carrier.
Ability to lift 20 pounds/participate in the light set-up for recruitment and on-campus events.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to maintain good concentration level while dealing with interruptions; attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy; capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information; formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans. Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Standing for extended periods of time. Reaching and extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than the whole hand(s), or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard. Communication skills using the spoken word. Ability to see within normal parameters. Ability to hear within normal parameters. Ability to bend and stoop, for example, to file. Ability to move about. Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs., for example, to lift or move office supplies, files, books and packages.
Ability to drive locally. Occasionally, will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time at activities/events on and off-campus.
Special Requirements:
Keck Graduate Institute has implemented a SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and Influenza Vaccination Program covering all employees and students. Employees must submit proof of vaccination, an Institute-approved exception, or deferral to comply with the policy.
Hours, Classification, and Status:
This is a , full-time, benefits-eligible, exempt position.
The regular hours of this position are Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours may vary due to the needs of the College or department.
Salary range: $105,000 - $107,000 annualized. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
