Job Description
Position & Description
The Service Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of basic and technical tasks to help with shop operation and customer service.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Shop Operation
Move vehicles in and around shop.
Shop maintenance including cleaning floors, trash removal, etc.
Shop organization including equipment, tools, supplies and parts.
Assist with Customers
Assist on the service drive and cashier counter with customers
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and some retail and/or customer service experience. Automotive dealership experience preferred. Candidates must be detail-oriented and must have a working knowledge of the industry, strong administrative and organizational skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills. Fluent English speaking and writing skills; good time management skills; and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Retail and/or customer service experience
- Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills
- Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of automotive servicing or repair highly desired
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Superior customer service skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent telephone skills
- Basic computer and internet skills
