Job Description
Job Title : Security Specialist III
Location : Washington, DC
Job Type : Full-Time
Salary : 74k-100k (based on experience)
Timeframe : ASAP
Job Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Specialist III. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of personnel security procedures, have the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly, and be capable of obtaining a Top Secret security clearance.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our security operations. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of security within the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the Personnel Security Specialist in collecting and verifying comprehensive background information.
- Monitor, review, and analyze security data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on security investigations and outcomes.
- Maintain and update security databases to ensure current and precise information.
- Conduct follow-up actions on security-related issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Manually collect fingerprints and initiate personnel security investigations through e-QIP.
- Utilize CVS / JPAS for accessing and managing records, investigations, and agency adjudications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all security protocols and procedures are strictly followed.
- Provide assistance during audits and security reviews as needed.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7 AM - 7 PM
40 hours (possible overtime)

Qualifications :
- Must have already have or capable of obtaining a Top Secret security clearance.
- High School Diploma with 4 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree (4 years experience recommended)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience processing and reviewing documentation for personnel security investigations.
- Proficiency in collecting fingerprints manually.
- Familiarity with CVS / JPAS for records, investigations, and agency adjudications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
