POSITION SUMMARY Develop and implement functional software applications and systems according to standard operating procedures to improve efficiencies, enhance productivity and manage data to support business operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Follow all company Policies and Procedures, Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), Kawasaki Production System (KPS), Information Systems Standard Operating Procedures and any other legal and compliance regulations that may apply such as OSHA. * Review, troubleshoot, debug and update existing software systems making appropriate modifications and performing adequate testing to correct errors, adapt new hardware, upgrade interfaces and/or improve performance. * Design, develop, document, test and implement well designed and testable software applications, database systems and web applications executing the full software development life cycle (SDLC) using test driven development and change management to meet required specifications, time and cost. * Coordinate, recommend, plan, test and perform implementation of new and updated software applications, database systems and web applications through proper analysis of requirements information, new equipment specifications, diagrams, symbolic logic and data to predict, measure, and ensure requirements are met and accuracy is achieved. * Consult and confer with stakeholders and other team members to conduct root analysis of issues, clarify application intent, suggest changes, perform unit testing, improve performance, improve availability, resolve application design issues, performance requirements and interface requirements. * Prepare reports or correspondence to clearly and regularly communicate with stakeholders concerning project specifications, activities, capabilities, limitations and status. * Document development and subsequent revisions of software applications through technical specifications, high level specifications and project plans paying attention to operational feasibility, feasibility across multiple platforms and system integration for the purpose of on- going support and enhancement. * Monitor system software operations to ensure proper performance and conformance. * May collaborate with other department staff and other business units to create intuitive instruction manuals and training course materials. * May collaborate with other department staff and other business units to mentor new department employees and provide formal and informal training of end users on new and enhanced applications. * Stay abreast of new technology, development methods, development tools and industry trends through publications, seminars, on-line education, etc. * Implement and monitor security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure and ensure all software requirements of quality, security and modifiability are met. * Work as part of a project team to coordinate development, determine project scope, communicate all concepts, guidelines, capabilities and limitations, define development aspects of technology and workflow SOP, and time and cost requirements and constraints.
