Katmai is Hiring a Procurement Support Specialist Near Richland, WA

Job Description:


SUMMARY

Provide general support services for the Hanford Procurement Division (HPD).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist contracting officers and contract specialists with general day-to-day contract administration duties.
  • Assist with drafting contract documents.
  • Assist with new awards, modifications, and closeouts utilizing the procurement system.
  • Support review of contract actions.
  • Support correspondence creation.
  • Assist with the preparation of various reports.
  • Utilize business operations experience to conduct tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Update and status workload tracking tool.
  • Analyze current processes and make recommendations for process improvements to gain efficiencies and provide consistency between organizations.
  • Assist with the review and process of contractor invoices in a timely fashion.
  • Support in coordinating evaluations by scheduling and tracking technical input.
  • Support timely and accurate compliance with monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Support of maintaining files on websites and/or share drives.
  • Support developing, issuing, updating, and revising policy, desk guides, and procedures.
  • Gather information for various audits or data calls.
  • Identify conflicts, potential conflicts, or perceived conflicts of interest with any Hanford Site contractors.
  • Compliance with site specific safety and security requirements, including badging and office protocols.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree or higher in a business field of study (Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing, etc.) preferred. In lieu of a degree, must have five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Working level knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities and priorities; DOE Hanford processes and procedures; DOE’s program management practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong clerical, administrative, and organizational capabilities.
  • Broad experience in supporting organizations with, tracking, monitoring, review and coordination efforts.
  • Ability to develop high-quality work products, to include proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation in accordance with the DOE Hanford Correspondence Manual and general office materials/guides.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and/or other MS Office tools.
  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID, a granted exception to vaccination for COVID, or able to meet entry and testing requirements for entrance and work in federal buildings.

  • Ability to work with government and contractor personnel to problem solve and formulate strategies for success.

  • Ability to manage work environment and workload with minimum of supervision, based on knowledge of work priorities.
  • Ability to set and achieve goals, working successfully as an individual contributor or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn/use other technology management tools employed at Hanford.
  • Proven ability to interface successfully with senior level management.

WORK SCHEDULE

40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to focus; occasional walking or standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 10 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with heavy periods of computer usage. May be assigned occasional to moderate periods of analytical tasks requiring extensive reasoning abilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT
