The Deli Maestro plays a pivotal role where culinary excellence and exceptional customer service are paramount. As a Deli Maestro, you will be responsible for curating and presenting an array of artisanal meats, smoked fish, cheeses, and specialty deli products that showcase the finest flavors and craftsmanship. Your expertise in food preparation, product knowledge, and customer engagement will create a memorable and delightful experience for our discerning clientele.
Responsibilities:
Deli Product Curation:
Select and source high-quality artisanal meats, smoked salmon/ fish, and other deli products from local and international suppliers.
Continuously update the product inventory to ensure a diverse and enticing selection that caters to customer preferences and culinary trends.
Maintain a well-organized and aesthetically pleasing display of deli items, paying attention to proper storage, rotation, and presentation.
Food Preparation and Artistry:
Skillfully slice, carve, and prepare meats, lox and cheeses with precision and attention to detail, maintaining the highest standards of freshness and taste.
Create appealing and visually stunning charcuterie boards, antipasto platters, and other delicacies, showcasing your artistic flair and culinary expertise.
Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene practices, maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace.
Customer Engagement and Service:
Provide personalized assistance and recommendations to customers, offering insights into flavor profiles, pairings, and suitable quantities for their desired occasions.
Engage with customers, offering samples, answering inquiries, and promoting new and seasonal deli offerings.
Demonstrate a genuine passion for gourmet food and be a brand ambassador, fostering a welcoming and friendly atmosphere within the deli section.
Product Knowledge and Education:
Stay informed about the origins, production methods, and unique qualities of the deli products to provide accurate information to customers.
Conduct tastings, workshops, and demonstrations to educate customers about various deli items, their flavors, and suggested usage.
Collaborate with the marketing team to contribute to product descriptions, promotions, and marketing materials.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with the purchasing department to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize wastage, and introduce new products based on customer demand.
