POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties on a professional level and works closely with Human Resources Director and
Human Resources Administrator in supporting the Human Resources Department functions. In addition, the position works closely with the KVHC Leadership Team in developing, implementing and evaluating ongoing Human Resources policies, programs, functions and activities. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The Human
Resources Manager must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist with the planning, directing and administration of all activities relating to administration and maintenance of the employee benefits programs including group health and life, workers' compensation, unemployment and retirement plans. Develop, implement and control programs in a manner that ensures cost effectiveness, market competitiveness and internal equity among employees.
2. Oversee the daily administration of other HR services as directed or assigned, including recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, contract administration, job classification, performance evaluation, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.
3. Maintain and expand knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws and regulations affecting human resource management. Identify trends that could affect organizational objectives and/or operational resources.
4. Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
5. Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all exempt organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
6. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
7. Oversees the recruitment effort for all exempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations and on-boarding for all exempt personnel.
8. Responsible for all aspects of KVHC’s interviewing and recruitment process.
9. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of the department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
10. Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
11. Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
12. Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
13. Complies with all safety rules and protocols. Reports all incidents, regardless of severity, immediately to supervisor and completes an incident reports and investigation form, which will be forwarded to Human Resources within twenty-four (24) hours of the incident.
14. Performs additional duties or projects as assigned by the Human Resources Director.
15. Adheres to all KVHC policies and protocols.
16. Complies with all safety rules and protocols. Reports all incidents, regardless of severity, immediately to their supervisor and completes an incident report and investigation form, which will be forwarded to Human Resources within twenty-four (24) hours of the incident.
17. Conducts themselves as a good steward in the communities served by KVHC; represents the organization at outreach activities as needed.
18. Actively participates as committee member as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
