Kasa is Hiring a Shift Lead Near San Francisco, CA

I. POSITION IDENTIFICATION

Position Title: Shift Manager

Starting Position Location: 4001 18th Street (open to growing into a Store Supervisor position within a year)

Reports to: Supervisor

Work days/hours: Full-time, 5-6 days per week / up to 40 hours

Employment: Nonexempt

Compensation: DOE tips (avg $8-9 per hour)

II. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Assists the supervisor in training employees and maintaining excellent customer service standards while managing day-to-day operations at the SF location(s) of the fast-casual restaurant.

III. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

A. Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to the Supervisor and Management. All front of house and back of house employees location report to the Store Supervisor

B. Daily Functions:

  • 90% Floor Operations - working side by side with team. Working shifts regularly to stay in touch with operations, food, team and customers.
  • Instill a sense of company culture and high standards with all employees.
  • Build strong communication across all team members from FOH to BOH that is consistent and constant.
  • Building empowerment through mentorship among employees.
  • Fostering a teamwork environment of collaboration, success and respect.
  • Maintain professional relationships with employees and outside vendors.
  • Strong communication and relationship with upper management, including regular check ins to seek feedback and critique to performance.
  • Following upper management initiatives to achieve results in a timely manner to satisfy performance for the Store Supervisor
  • Adhere to food safety practices and ongoing training and follow up to maintain health score as well as employee well being, including compliance on sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Maintain food quality and operational standards.

C. Other Functions:

  • Handling issues that arise with employees or customers (complaints, grievances etc).
  • Backup administration including assisting or managing food orders, inventory levels, cash handling, and record keeping.
  • Cross-training of positions to build empowerment among employees.
  • Assisting upper management to controlling operation cost and identifying measures to cut waste and improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Training of new staff.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical training or skills: Basic computer and typing knowledge to use email and Google Drive.
  • Professional training or knowledge: ServSafe Certificate (preferred or will be provided by company)
  • Work experience: Restaurant shift lead experience.
  • License required: Yes. Prefer if the candidate has a vehicle.
  • General education or equivalent: High School or above.
  • Physical demands: Moderate. Individuals must be able to speak clearly and understandably, hear communications by telephone and in person, stand or walk for prolonged periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Required behaviors: Dependable, prompt, regular attendance. 
  • Availability to maintain a work week of up to 40 hours across 5-6 days and available to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Planning and organization to accomplish tasks within a normal workday.
  • Tolerance for stress of multiple simultaneous, possibly conflicting, demands.
  • Oral communication skills to represent the Company successfully and clearly to the public.
