Position Overview:

Kapur is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Inspector to join our team. As a Construction Inspector, you will work closely with our Municipal department, overseeing large construction projects.

  • Manage and oversee the execution of large-scale construction projects.
  • Review and assess project drawings and designs, particularly for municipal projects such as road construction, new subdivisions, wastewater plants, and other related infrastructure developments.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating tasks and resources effectively for timely project delivery.
  • Establish and maintain direct communication channels with contractors, public work directors, and others involved in the construction process.
  • Take an active role in the planning and design phases of construction projects, contributing your technical expertise to enhance project drawings and designs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to optimize project plans.
  • Conduct regular tests on materials and procedures for compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Identify any deviations or issues and propose corrective measures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of construction processes, documenting project milestones, changes, and issues encountered.
  • Keep comprehensive construction logs to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Prepare and deliver concise and informative project updates to clients and senior management.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and achievements, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, highly preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Construction Engineer, preferably in the municipal sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with WisDOT and local agency procedures for design and construction.
  • WisDOT Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP) certifications or ability to obtain desirable.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • AutoCAD is not required but would be a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
