We are searching for a talented Recruiter to join our team! The Recruiter executes a proactive strategy to identify, recruit, and fill open positions. You have the opportunity to work in all steps of the recruiting process! This position participates in the talent acquisition process by sourcing applicants, cultivating relationships, and developing inclusive, innovative, and effective recruitment practices, to attract the highest qualified candidates. The Recruiter works collaboratively with members of the talent team and hiring mangers to discuss the strategy and efficiency of each search. Using internal partnerships, this position helps build and share the KSU Foundation employer brand to attract and inform candidates. The Recruiter is expected to travel to conferences and fundraising events to represent the Foundation for recruiting purposes. This position is responsible for talent acquisition reporting, metrics and HR-related projects. As a member of the Talent, Culture, and HR team, the Recruiter collaborates and participates in departmental projects that support the organizations ability to elevate performance and enhance engagement.

A day in the life of a recruiter could look like:

  1. Serve as a contact point for assigned positions throughout the hiring process and provide candidates an overview of position, organization. Keep candidates and hiring managers advised of progress.
  2. Screen and interview applicants for assigned open positions. Schedule qualified candidate interviews with hiring managers, internal panels, and campus partners. 
  3. Develop a strategy for candidate pipeline development and sourcing by utilizing all available tools, including company website, social media, job boards, employee referrals, recruiting tools and agencies/others.
  4. Interact with college units, alumni groups and other strategic partners to promote the organization and career opportunities.
  5. Track and present metrics on candidate sourcing efforts. Present metrics to leadership as required. 
  6. Attend professional conferences, events, and job fairs to conduct recruitment activities.
  7. Utilize the ATS to its fullest ability to document all sourcing and recruiting activities. Ensure data is accurate and up to date.
  8. Participate in initiatives designed to identify and attract the top talent for the organization. This includes, but is not limited to employment branding, applicant sourcing, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), and other strategic staffing initiatives.
  9. Leverage knowledge and experience to support learning and development needs of hiring managers and employees by providing advice, guidance, and training support for topics including but not limited to; employer branding, ATS access and use, employment law related to recruiting, and interview best practices.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in recruiting/talent acquisition 
  • Experience managing multiple job openings on a regular basis 
  • Basic understanding of employment laws, with solid understanding of legal/illegal pre-employment inquiries and behavioral interviewing techniques 
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using recruiting techniques to identify talent based on organizational and departmental needs.
  • Experience working as an in-house recruiter and member of an HR team
  • Excellent planning, time management, decision making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and applicant tracking software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to accurately interpret both verbal and nonverbal cues from candidates, hiring managers and other partners
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a positive can-do demeanor
  • Ability to prioritize and organize sophisticated projects and plans to deliver results
  • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license with an acceptable driving record 

What we want:

  • Experience in or knowledge of higher education fundraising
  • Experience with recruitment reporting metrics 
  • Recruiting or HR certifications (i.e. PHR, PRC, CIR, CDR) 
  • General HR knowledge and experience
  • Results-orientated, quality-driven and team oriented
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on projects
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the university, the mission of the Foundation and recruiting
  • Driven and hard working
