Kansas City Canine Orthopedics is Hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Near Shawnee, KS

Kansas City Canine Orthopedics is looking for a full-time, certified technician to join our highly specialized canine orthopedic hospital in Kansas. We are looking for a dedicated, engaged, compassionate person who enjoys working in a fast-paced and energetic environment. Come thrive in an environment that encourages education and continued growth within the profession, with opportunities to learn new skills such as epidurals, nerve blocks, CT scan, arthroscopy set-up, platelet-rich plasma preparation, and more.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include:

  • Running basic laboratory tests (complete blood counts and blood chemistry panels)
  • Obtaining radiographs and, in the future, running the CT machine
  • Pre, peri, and post operative care for surgical patients
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Maintaining surgical suite and equipment
  • Advanced role in patient care and client communication
  • Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Veterinary Technician Certification required (RVT, CVT, or LVT credentials)
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members
  • Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and handle multiple tasks
  • Enthusiastic team player with a patient, and positive professional attitude.
  • Must be able to lift and restrain pets of at least 50 pounds and to 75 pounds, and work on feet most of the day.
  • Must be able to interact with and be around all pets that we provide care to

About Us:

Kansas City Canine Orthopedics is a progressive, state-of-the-art, small animal, orthopedic hospital specializing in ACL repair, fractures, joint replacements, and arthroscopy. We are located in Shawnee, KS just a few minutes west of I-435. We are open Monday through Friday. No weekend or on-call hours required.
