Kankakee Community College is Hiring a CTE Navigator - Business, Technology & Human Services Near Kankakee, IL

Under general supervision, the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Navigator performs responsible and varied specialized work that facilitates KCC’s initiatives to promote student academic success and lifelong learning for all Business, Technology and Human Services students. Assists with academic advising within the Business, Technology and Human Services division to guide students with the development and successful completion of their educational plans.A. Monitors all students in a Business, Technology and Human Services career program, emphasizing those who self-identify as economically disadvantaged, English learner, involved in Foster Care, homeless, non-traditional field, out of work, single parents, disabled or youth with parent in the active armed forces. 
B. Develops solutions that advocate, support, encourage, and highlight the accomplishments of Business, Technology and Human Services students, in collaboration with the program faculty, navigators, EDI Center, etc. 
C. Communicates with the Dean, Assistant Dean, and program faculty to monitor academic success for all Business, Technology and Human Services students. Provides updates and feedback as appropriate.
D. Maintains records of student interactions, services provided, and outcomes achieved. Prepares quarterly reports relative to the progress of assigned programs and grant requirements as appropriate. Maintains notes, files, reports, and records associated with the duties of the position, both written and electronic. Collects, evaluates, and shares data regarding students' progress; identifies trends and research best practices in student persistence and completion in order to develop appropriate retention initiatives.
E. Collaborates with students to identify resources needed for academic progression and completion.
F. Establishes trusting, appropriate relationships with students for the purpose of coaching and mentoring successful behaviors.
G. Compiles an accurate list of KCC and community resources that promote the health, wellness, and academic progression of Business, Technology and Human Services students. 
H. Creates schedule for advising and student access during occasional evening hours, maintaining presence in both Technology Hall and MITC. 
I. Serves the college as a speaker, presenter or in similar capacities in high schools, service organizations, community events and other activities of a similar nature. 
J. Maintains a positive attitude and a team approach toward accomplishing institutional goals and values. 
K. Attends division meetings, in-service activities, college-wide convocations, participates in Commencement and other academic events and ceremonies. A. Bachelor’s degree required, directly related to the type of work being performed is preferred. Master’s degree preferred. 
B. An understanding of and experience with personal, educational, career, and transfer planning highly desirable. Bilingual preferred. 
C. Qualified candidate must have strong reading, writing, and computation skills, as well as strong computer experience with Microsoft office or comparable software applications.Salary begins at $51,593/yr.
