Description

The Survey of Renewable Energy instructor’s primary function is to provide instruction and assess student learning in the college’s Survey of Renewable Energy course. The instructor will participate in program promotion, articulation, and student recruitment as well as attend the program advisory group meetings.

Examples of Duties

A. Provides instruction and assesses student learning within the Survey of Renewable Energy course.
B. Collaborates with colleagues to review and revise curriculum, teaching materials, and teaching methods to promote student success and lifelong learning.
C. Advises, counsels and assists students enrolled in the electrical engineering technology program in accomplishing their course and program goals.
D. Meets classes as scheduled by the College and maintains office hours as stated in the KCC Faculty adjunct Association Contract.
E. Evaluates student performance and maintains and provides tenth day and midterm attendance and grade records for each class.
F. Remains current with content, technology and teaching and learning strategies in the discipline.
G. Assesses student learning outcomes at the class, course, and program levels as defined by the faculty Assessment Committee.
H. Functions as an academic adviser for students enrolled in their division and assists in the advisement and scheduling process during in-service week.
I. Works in a collaborative manner and responds to phone and email requests promptly.
J. Follows the policies and procedures of the College as stated in the Faculty Handbook and the KCC Faculty Association Contract.

Minimum Qualifications

A. Bachelor's degree in electrical technology, electrical engineering, renewable energy or a related field or an Associates degree in electrical technology combined with significant experience in the field. Master's degree preferred. Educational or experiential background in Instrumentation and Process Control technology desirable.
B. Electrical technology and Instrumentation and Process Control technology work experience required.
C. Prior experience as an excellent, innovative teacher and use of instructional technologies is desirable; community college experience preferred.
D. Qualified candidate must have strong reading, writing, communication, and computation skills as well as be computer literate.
