Job Overview:

Kamps is seeking an Operations Management Trainee. The Operations Management Trainee position is a 6 to 12-month entry-level position to prepare potential leaders for management roles. Successful candidates will have an interest and aptitude for applying hands-on, practical skills while leading people and managing operations. Candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit, some business knowledge/education, internal motivation and strong interpersonal skills will excel.

Essential Functions:

• Work in multiple areas of assigned Kamps home facility during training program.
• Work in multiple areas of assigned Kamps home facility during the training program.
• Repair, sort and build pallets; operate various saws or other pieces of equipment.
• Become certified and operate a forklift to service a department or to load/unload trucks.
• Learn and rotate through other various areas at a plant such as dispatch, customer service, and sales.
• Observe and train with experienced staff to learn about the standards, procedures and methods used to be effective within each department.
• Travel to multiple Kamps plants for site specific training.
• Attend and complete required training classes and comprehend assigned training materials. Be able to demonstrate competency from training.
• Demonstrate the ability to understand specifics of the plant’s operations and successfully lead employees.
• Participate in the recruiting process and assist with the onboarding of new employees.
• Evaluate and monitor the work performance and progress of others.
• Provide support to management by ensuring correct and timely reporting.
• Learn how to drive daily operations using key performance indicators.
• Be a role model for employees with regard to professionalism and safety.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bilingual - Spanish & English preferred
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred
• Willingness to relocate to other Kamps locations
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Entry-level supervisory experience
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
