Job Opportunity: Teacher Assistant at Kama'aina Kids!

Positions Available: Teacher Assistants in Honolulu, Kailua, Kaneohe, & Waianae.

Responsibilities:

As a Teacher Assistant, you will collaborate closely with our lead teachers to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting in Classroom Activities: Support lead teachers during lessons, playtime, and other activities. Help maintain a safe and positive classroom atmosphere.
  2. Individualized Attention: Provide one-on-one attention to children, ensuring their needs are met and fostering their social and emotional development.
  3. Supervision and Safety: Monitor children during outdoor play, snack time, and transitions. Ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
  4. Activity Preparation: Assist in preparing materials, setting up learning centers, and organizing classroom resources.
  5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance, behavior, and progress.

A Day in the Life of a Teacher Assistant:

  • Morning: Greet students as they arrive. Help with morning routines, such as hanging up jackets and backpacks.
  • Classroom Activities: Engage in circle time, art projects, storytime, and hands-on learning experiences. Encourage curiosity and exploration.
  • Snack and Lunchtime: Assist with serving snacks and meals. Foster good table manners and social interactions.
  • Outdoor Play: Accompany children outdoors to the playground. Encourage physical activity and cooperative play.
  • Individual Support: Work with children who need extra help or encouragement. Celebrate their achievements.
  • Clean-Up Time: Help tidy up the classroom, organize materials, and prepare for the next day.

Qualifications

For Teacher Assistants:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid & CPR/AED Certification (Qualified Training Provided).
  • No professional experience required; all training is provided for you, our enthusiastic new team member!
