Kalispel Tribe of Indians is Hiring a Lifeguard - Camas Center Near Cusick, WA

Hiring Preference:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

PREVENTIVE LIFEGUARDING

  1. Maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool with emphasis on the prevention of accidents.
  2. Maintain order and enforce pool rules.
  3. Provide and supervise the safe use of all equipment.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  1. Record daily attendance.
  2. Uphold all Camas Center policies.
  3. All accident reports turned in to supervisor.
  4. Membership retention.
  5. Check in and out on time card.

MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Hose and bucket deck each evening after closing.
  2. Check pool chemicals and record. Notify supervisor of unacceptable levels.
  3. Clean office each evening after closing. Equipment stored in proper place.
  4. Inform supervisor of any needed repairs.

EMERGENCY ACTION PLANS

  1. Follow the emergency action plan as described in the emergency procedure guide.
  2. Follow the chain of command in all emergencies.
  3. Inspect and keep pool area, first aid and life-saving equipment in readiness at all times.

OTHER

  1. Dress code upheld.
  2. Punctuality: arrive 10 – 15 minutes before scheduled time.
  3. Camas Center code of conduct upheld.
  4. Attend all in-service training programs and staff meetings.
  5. To do related work as requested by supervisor.

  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires medium physical effort such as frequent setting up of heavy equipment, frequently working in uncomfortable positions, or occasionally lifting and carrying of heavy loads.
  • Employee has some exposure to health and safety hazards.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Program Volume: Lifeguards routinely has 31 to 100 participants under their supervision and periodically up to 200 participants. Constant, undivided attention must be demonstrated at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
