    SUMMARY:
    A Success Coach at the Parchment Innovation Center is an advocate for students. This individual assists students with career assessments, researching possible career options and then collaboratively building an individualized learning plan tailored to each student’s career goals and interests. The Success Coach will help students identify and overcome obstacles that may impede academic and employment success. The Success Coach's responsibilities also include helping students to prepare for job interviews, recommending effective job search techniques, and working with students to enhance their job skills.
    A Success Coach should be knowledgeable of different career paths and committed to helping students achieve their educational and employment-related objectives. Ultimately, an outstanding Success Coach should be able to build rapport with students and demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Associates Degree or MDE approved testing
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Minimum 3-5 years successful classroom experience
    • Leadership role in supporting and monitoring at-risk students
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Valid Driver’s license
    • Valid Chauffeur's license preferred
    • Willingness to be trained in CPR and Non-violent Crisis Intervention techniques
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Helps students identify personal interests and life goals
    • Assists students in planning strategic Individualized Learning Plans (ILP)
    • Reviews students’ resumes and cover letters and provides feedback
    • Rehearses job interview tactics with students and offers advice
    • Provide students with information regarding the current job market trends in career choices
    • Administers career assessments to help determine students’ interests and skills
    • Assists students with job search skills, contacting prospective employers and completing job applications
    • Monitors progress of students in caseload with check-ins, scheduled meetings, or proactive outreach and communication, responding to students’ questions, concerns, and needs
    • Assists students in developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that may be impeding academic success; works with students to learn strong time management and organization skills; motivates students to practice self-regulation and take ownership of their academic success
    • Refers students to appropriate academic personnel and support resources and collaborates with others to monitor and accelerate the academic progress of the students referred
