Instructional Director

Summary

We are looking for a leader in classroom instruction. Skilled in professional development with proven data that drive classroom success. The Instructional director works closely with teachers to develop instructional materials and teaching aids that will benefit scholars. This role also works closely with the principal to drive cultural standards for student success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 8-12 teachers to become strong classroom leaders
  • Give feedback on lesson plans
  • Observation of classrooms
  • Actively input teacher feedback in GROW (Feedback Platform)
  • Weekly Data Meetings
  • Instructional Coaching
  • Help teachers develop strong classroom culture
  • Facilitate weekly meetings to track teacher progress
  • Lead professional development tailored to the needs of the team
  • Ensure vertical curriculum alignment
  • And whatever else may come up for a high/Middle school administrator
  • Daily Huddle
  • Weekly Tactical Meeting
  • Strategic Planning

The Ideal Candidate Can...

  • Demonstrate at least 4 years of proven teacher development and coaching
  • Build and adjust systems of instructional coaching based on teacher needs
  • Analyze instructional data (NWEA MAP, cyclical assessments, exit tickets) to create a detailed plan of action
  • Motivate and drive individuals towards a vision of instructional excellence
  • Healthy relationship building

Technology Skills

Competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degreeRequired
  • Masters degree Preferred
  • Missouri Substitute Certification Required
  • Valid Missouri Teacher Certification content specific to role applied for, Strongly Preferred or willingness to become certified ASAP.
  • 3 years of teaching experience Preferred
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday 7:30am- 4:00pm
    • Some weekends and evenings will be required

  • Saint Louis, MO 63118: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required). Please note, this is not a remote position. All Kairos teachers are required to deliver in-person instruction onsite, in our school in St. Louis.
