Position: Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $20/hr

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience. Current Medical Assistant Certification from a certified institution or within 6 months of hire.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7:30am -4:30pm, Sat: 8:00am - 12:00pm

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Greet and welcome patients into the office.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Handle insurance verification and referrals.
• Obtain patient medical information and history.
• Collect and record patient vital signs, weight, and height.
• Prepare rooms and assist physicians during examinations.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens as needed.
• Log and prepare specimens for testing.
• Communicate treatment procedures, medications, and diets to patients.
• Maintain and order office, medical, and lab supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Experience with Epic electronic medical records, Akamai practice management, and Hawaii Immunization Registry.
• Current BLS certification and HIPAA Certified.
• Effectively work on a team and independently.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Possess good judgment and strong problem-solving skills.
• Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
