Overview

To supervise the total sales effort of the hotel, including developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, supervision of sales related staff, implementation of sales and marketing strategies maximizing profits of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned sales staff: hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations and development.

• Meet with and maintain rapport with individuals and contacts in order to produce groups and/or convention business, to include Room Sales, F & B Sales, and Catering/Banquet.

• Schedule conventions and business group activities at the hotels.

• Maintain liaison with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.

• Assist the General Manager in the creation and update of the hotel-level Business Plan.

• Develop and maintain departmental budgets.

• Maintain good rapport with area Chamber of Commerce, and other local civic groups and companies.
• Travel locally to conduct qualified outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition reader boards to develop leads.

• Enforce sales related policies and procedures.

• Ensure sales activities meet or surpass profit plan.

• Develop and maintain client files.

• Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• 4 year college degree required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5 years hotel sales management experience in all market segments.
