Currently, we are looking for one (1) Dental Hygienist.

Location: Ocala, FL 34475

Shift time: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Dress Code: Medical Attire

Bilingual: English/Spanish

Compensation: $23.62/hour

Position Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Dental Hygienist in the School-Based Sealant program.
• Provide dental assessment.
• Take pictures of the inside of all students’ mouths for teledentistry.
• Educate students on oral hygiene.
• Provide fluoride varnish treatments and dental sealants.

Required mandatory skills/certification(s):

• Clear and current Florida Dental Hygiene License
• Current/active CPR certificate

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of dental terminology.
• Knowledge of dental hygiene principles and practices.
• Skills in using dental instruments and equipment and performing dental prophylaxis and scaling and root planning.
• Ability to instruct patients in preventive dental techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to manage time to adequately treat patients but still treat the number of patients needed and promptly.
• Ability to work with dentists, assistants, student assistants, and volunteers in a way that promotes teamwork and the betterment of the residents of Marion County.
