Currently, we are looking for one (1) Dental Assistant.

Location: Ocala, FL 34475

Shift time: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Dress Code: Medical Attire

Bilingual: English/Spanish

Compensation: $ 14.68/hour

Position Description:

Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement:

• Florida Dental Radiology Certificate
• FL Dental Expanded Duty Certificate
• FL driver’s license
• Current/active CPR certificate

Duties/Responsibilities:

Dental Treatment

• Expanded duties as licensed by the board of professional regulations for certified dental assistants.
• Polish clinical crowns of teeth.
• Apply topical fluoride gels and varnish.
• Place temporary restorations and sealants.
• Remove sutures.
• Fabricate temporary crowns, pack cord and cement temporary crowns.

Four-handed dental technique

• Review the medical history with the patient/guardian and take blood pressure.
• Complete the signs and symptoms and objective data of the SOAP notes and write up in the computer notes.
• Use proper barrier techniques.
• Pass instruments while correctly retracting tongue and/or cheek and while suctioning.
• Coordinate assisting methods, activities, and actions with the dentist’s actions.
• Adjust equipment and light source as needed by the dentist.
• Mix restorative materials and cement.

Proper operatory setup

• Ensure instruments and equipment are out and in place before a patient arrives.
• Able to lift at least 10 pounds.

Radiographs

• Maintain radiographic certification as licensed by the Board of Professional Regulations.
• Use ScanX phosphoric plates and EagleSoft software.

Sterilization

• Properly clean and sterilize instruments following dental clinic procedures.
• Clean autoclave and clean and disinfect counters and environmental surfaces.
• Other duties as assigned.
