K Dermatology & Wellness Institute is Hiring a Dermatology Medical Assistant - Full Time Near Richardson, TX

As a Dermatology Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support the doctor and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Looking for a friendly and hardworking Full Time MEDICAL ASSISTANT for a one location dermatology practice in Richardson, TX. Seeking someone who is detail oriented, fast paced, and time efficient. Great time management skills essential. Our office is a private practice that sees patients five days per week in general, surgical, cosmetic, and pediatric dermatology.

DERMATOLOGY MEDICAL ASSISTANT

The Medical Assistant will provide assistance to the physician in multiple settings including the clinic and surgical settings. They are to provide safe, knowledgeable, compassionate individualized care to all patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Work with several other Medical Assistants
-Serve as a patient advocate during patient exam and treatment
-Show patients to examination rooms, procedure rooms or operative rooms and prepare them for the physician
-Interview patients to obtain medical histories and record patients' medical history, medications, allergies, and information such as test results in medical records.
-Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatment
-Prepare and administer intramuscular medications as directed by a physician following safety protocol
-Remove sutures as instructed by physician
-Collect tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
-Explain treatment plan and physicians' instructions to patients.
-Manage pathology log and inform patients of biopsy results.
-Return patient phones calls and answer questions, under physician direction
-Assist with procedures such as biopsies, skin surgeries, and cosmetic procedures
-Under physician direction, e-prescribe medications to patient pharmacies.
-Authorize medication refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
-Manage paperwork and assist patients with obtaining biologic medications.
-Manage Ipledge and isotretinoin prescriptions.
-Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.-Help with front desk as needed (check in, check out, patient scheduling)

Experience Requirements

-One year experience as a dermatology medical assistant preferred

-Certified as a Medical Assistant or Certified Dermatology Tech is preferred
-Excellent communication skills necessary
-Willingness to learn new skills and competencies and ability to acknowledge and seek to correct mistakes
-Experience with electronic medical records (EMA Modernizing Medicine experience is a plus)
-Scribing experience preferred
-Well-organized, pays attention to detail
‪-Strong time management skills

Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
