K B S, Inc. is Hiring an Accounting Clerk Near Sarasota, FL

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Assists clients and senior management on a range of general accounting functions in the management of a portfolio of captive insurance companies and/or risk retention groups. Specific responsibilities include timely financial statement preparation, maintenance of corporate records, regulatory reporting as well as overall account management. Additional duties include:

  • Compiles corporate financial data necessary for the timely processing of the quarterly and year-end closing of the applicable general ledgers including the preparation and input of monthly standard and special journal entries and maintenance of supporting documentation.
  • Prepares and uploads necessary journal entries into the appropriate accounting system.
  • Assists in the analysis and preparation of financial data.
  • Assists with ad-hoc projects as requested by management.
  • Performs routine/basic accounting responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work on special projects and meet the demands of clients, including some travel to attendance at board meetings.
  • Works closely with Accounting Manager and clients under immediate supervision.
  • Reconciles various bank accounts.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelors’ degree required in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles.
  • PC literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Expert mastery of the English language, both written and verbal, and ability to communicate effectively with others, including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members.
  • Ability to analyze data and present recommendations based on outcomes of analysis.
  • Ability to prepare and effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to management, customers, clients, and employee.

MINIMUM JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors’ degree required in accounting or equivalent experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
