Position Purpose:

The outreach coordinator is responsible for promoting the HIV and Biomedical services and outpatient programs throughout the surrounding areas, supporting clients in need of HIV or Biomedical services. The Outreach coordinator will conduct community outreach to develop resources and support clients and their families.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the development and implementation of a community mobilization plan targeting outreach venues, evaluation of those efforts, and identification of gaps/opportunities in outreach efforts and developing strategies for addressing gaps and maximizing opportunities within our HIV and Biomedical programs.
2. Create an organized outreach protocol and schedule for outreach activities; maintain an updated list of outreach sites/venues utilized by the target population.
3. Assist HIV and Biomedical team to conduct community education events focusing on STI, PrEP and HIV interventions including nutritional food services.
4. Utilize social media platforms in outreach efforts.
5. Assist in the development, design and layout of social marketing materials supporting prevention activities, including but not limited to: program flyers, publicity campaigns, monthly calendars and other materials as needed with guidance of development department.
6. Attend department meetings and trainings.
7. Ensure culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
8. Serve as speaker/facilitator for trainings.
9. Attend community/public meetings as necessary.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Current California Driver’s License.
2. Experience working with high-risk populations.
3. Working knowledge of word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel) and presentation programs (Microsoft PowerPoint).
4. Effective communication skills. 
5. Ability to travel to multiple work sites.
