Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, cleanliness, and maintenance of JWCH, Wesley Health Center facilities. This position will play an important role in supporting the Facilities Manager, clinics' overall functionality, safety, and compliance with health and safety regulations. This position requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Provides assistance to the Maintenance Supervisor including the upkeep of the JWCH health care clinics, mobile unit, and other facilities.
2. Maintenance may include and not limited to painting, roofing, carpentry, equipment operation, and miscellaneous duties to provide maintenance support.
3. Upkeep includes general landscaping including mowing and watering the lawns and plants, and removing dirt, sand, gravel, and weeds.
4. Cleans all areas of a medical facility such as patient exam rooms, bathrooms, laboratories, diagnostic testing areas, staff areas, offices, hallways, waiting rooms.
5. Conducts regular inspections of the clinic premises to identify and address maintenance or repair needs.
6. Performs repairs and maintenance tasks, such as fixing plumbing issues, repairing electrical systems, and coordinating with external contractors for major repairs.
7. Maintains and service medical equipment, including routine checks, calibration, and coordination with equipment vendors for repairs or replacements.
8. Monitors and maintains heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure proper functioning and temperature control within the sites.
9. Disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies using germicides.
10. Scrubs and polishes floors and furniture.
11. Disposes of trash and medical waste according to medical facility policy.
12. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Ability to move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
2. Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
3. Physical ability to stand for long period of times.
4. Physical ability to constantly bend, stoop, and stretch.
5. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
