General Summary of Duties:

The Atmosphere Manager is responsible for assisting the Restaurant General Manager with curating nightly musical programming, cementing differentiating partnerships, helping craft ambiance and flow of service, building the bar’s music collection, and working with the marketing and PR teams to ensure timely publication of announcements. As the Atmosphere, you will be responsible for understanding how various musical genres combine to create a lively and engaging atmosphere by curating and playing a vast array of genres that complement the bar’s mood and target audience. Your role will involve understanding and engaging guests, adapting to different phases of the dining and bar experiences, contributing to the creation and enhancement of programming and special events, and skillful blending of music genres to enhance overall guest enjoyment. This position will also be responsible for all F&B operations such as but not limited to floor management, opening, and closing the restaurant.

Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):

• Oversee the F&B Operation as it relates to JW Marriott performance standards, maximizing revenue and profit, recruiting, and training and developing.
• Oversee employees and operations ensuring organization, cleanliness, proper maintenance, appropriate levels of inventory and supplies.
• Curate and create playlists that align with the restaurant's concept, ambiance, and target audience.
• Set up and operate DJ equipment, including turntables, mixers, controllers, and speakers.
• Understand the demographics and preferences of the restaurant's clientele to tailor the music selection accordingly.
• Maintain a diverse music library that encompasses various genres, including but not limited to jazz, blues, R&B, soul, rock, pop, and world music.
• Collaborate with restaurant management and staff to synchronize music with specific events, promotions, and themes.
• Monitor and adjust sound levels to create an optimal balance between music and conversation.
• Stay up to date with current music trends, emerging artists, and popular genres to ensure a fresh and exciting playlist.
• Adhere to copyright laws and licensing requirements related to playing music in public spaces.
• Responsible for collecting and purchasing of the ever-growing vinyl collection.
• Plan, organize and book musicians and promotional experiences.
• Constant evaluation of dining rooms, food receiving, preparation, production, and storage areas.
• Supervises daily F&B shift operation and ensures compliance with all F&B policies, standards and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring restaurants' appearance meets and exceeds standards and maintains compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance by all F&B employees with Company and departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English
• Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in a high quality, high volume and multi-unit operations
• Knowledge of music curation and library inventory
• Well organized and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop strong professional relationships with vendors, guests, and employees
• Music industry knowledge and connections preferred
